I've seen some of the negative reviews for Bonnie's books that allege how hateful she is. But I found this a very helpful book for women who've been the victims of this kind of abuse to know that they're not alone. And it is abuse to lie about one's identity and use another for personal and financial gain whether it's done by a gay or straight person. While I understand that some people have confusion and fear surrounding their sexuality and completely empathize with those for which this is a reality, this isn't the case for those who purposely seek out a beard to use or continue to use someone once they've come to the realization they're gay. I don't agree with everything that Bonnie has written in her books, but I do believe she understands the pain this causes women and truly wants to support them in their struggles to leave an abusive relationship.Product details

Very informative
Bonnie's books are an eye opening answer to those who have questions. Her books gave me my sanity back in a time my ex was trying to take it from me. Being gay is no problem. Being a closeted gay who manipulates all reality to suit his world creates a plethora of issues that are beyond destructive. My sisters in this world are able to read through any typos that might appear, for the stories are earily similar even if the names, places and level of manipulation are slightly different. The common thread that Bonnie brings to light is in fact confirmation that we are not alone! If you are male and closeted I don't imagine you to appreciate the gravity of the lives that wives and families endure at your twisting of life or making everything seem like our imagination. If you are a woman, the fact is by reading these books; you at least have questions. Whether you are able to accept the answer is for you to sort.
Bonnie's books are a miraculous find for those of us in need. Bonnie's compassion and her life story in and of itself speaks to those of us having similar experiences. Open your mind, get out of the closet and for the sake of all you know down deep; don't be a closet door! Wanda in Orlando (I identify myself because this is not our shame!!!)
This book is a compilation of small stories from people that were/are married to gay partners. It was an easy read that could be fit into a very busy schedule, one story at a time. While the individual circumstances and stories were different from mine, there were many themes and details that resonated with me. While I have felt so alone through this long journey , I understand now that I am not alone. This book helped me so much! I encourage you to read this.
I too, was married to a gay man for over 30 years with no support or information available to me for years. That's why this powerful book is so important for others who might be in the same situation as I was. This book is so powerful and informative to others who want to understand better how wives suffer and try to preserve their families. Our children suffer as well and friends and family need to deal with them with compassion and understanding. We are victims of society that refuses to accept gays and let them live in peace. Our society is homophobic causing gays to hide in marriages and thus causing more pain to their families. This book is shocking, informative and powerful!!!
I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to better understand how lives are shattered.

Outstanding book. I couldn't put it down. What great insight given to the reader who was searching for answers, comfort amd understanding of their situation. So many parallels to my own "shattered" life. My onl wish was that I could have submitted my story to inspire another person who finds themselves in a marriage where there is deception, lies, and endless emotional pain. Bravo to all the people who submitted their heart renching stories.
